SoftFrac organises a Mini symposium at ECCOMAS 2024, June

We are happy to announce that we will host a mini symposium during ECCOMAS 2024 (https://eccomas2024.org/):
MS115 – “Failure Mechanics of Soft Materials: Modeling and Experimental Approaches”, which will be part of the conference taking place in Lisbon, Portugal from June 3rd to June 7th, 2024.

Our mini symposium aims to showcase recent advancements in both experimental and computational approaches for investigating failure mechanisms in soft materials. This includes (but is not limited to) the following topics:
– Composites and multifunctional polymers (magneto-, electro-, photo-active)
– Fracture-resistant (hydro)gels
– Experimental characterization of soft fracture
– Constitutive modeling and numerical simulation
– Multiscale approaches
– Configurational forces in failure mechanics
– Application of machine learning to fracture mechanics
